The two Yorkshire clubs met up at Elland Road to compete in a highly contested Yorkshire Derby. At the end, both teams shared the spoils, drawing at 1-1. Leed’s new signing, Chris Wood, leveled the match.
Chris Wood went on to tell Sky Sports his opinion on the result.
“It was going to take something special for them to score because our back five was very solid.”
“It’s nice to be up and running but I would have traded in the goals for three points.”
His goal cancelled out Marco Matias, The Owls’ new signing, goal.
Sheffield Wednesday defender, Tom Lees, told Sky Sports, “I’m not surprised by Marco Matias’ goal. He is a very good player and I’ve been impressed by him so far.”
This result puts Leeds United four games into the season with four draws and four points. Sheffield Wedensday now sits with a win, a loss, and two draws.
The match could have gone both ways throughout the game, but at the end, both teams couldn’t execute anything to secure all three points.
