With the group stages of the Champions League about to kick off the excitement is building on who will be crowned the champions of Europe. The four Premier League teams in the competition this year are all in with a shot of bringing the trophy home. Sports betting sites have Liverpool and Manchester City the favorites from the EPL to go all the way with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur outsider in this year’s competition.

Over the last decade Premier League clubs have not managed to bring the trophy home but after Liverpool managed to make the final last campaign it has given renewed hope that finally one of the EPL clubs can win the world’s most prestige competition. With the world’s top managers are all at English clubs, they have the experience and know how to become victorious.

With Pep Guardiola in charge of Manchester City, they have become one of the world’s best teams and this year will be determined to prove it by winning the EPL and Champions League double. It is likely that Liverpool will be their biggest competition after investing heavily in the summer transfer window and full of confidence after reaching last year’s final. It is likely that out of the four Premier League teams that it will be either Man City or Liverpool that go the furthest in the competition but a lot will depend on the draw along with injuries to key players.

Mourinho has won the Champions League many times and will be determined to prove his recent doubters wrong by winning the competition. After a shaky start and none stop moaning by the manager, many feared that it could end in disaster this season for the Red Devils. Over the last couple of weeks, things seem to have settled down a little but a lot will depend on Mourinho and Pogba solving their relationship problem as it is affecting the whole team. If they are able to do that and have a bit of luck on their side, they may surprise everyone by lifting the trophy at the end of the season.

After a fantastic start to the season by winning their first three matches which included away to Manchester United, big things were expected by Spurs. Things have fallen apart since then with the stadium delayed and suffering two defeats on the bounce. With no new signings and players looking fatigued after the world cups it is difficult to see them do better than last season in the Champions League. If they can reach the quarter-finals and secure another top-four finish it will be another fantastic job by Mauricio Pochettino.

The bookmakers still favor the teams from France, Spain, and Germany though as Barcelona are 6/1, Real Madrid 17/2, Bayern Munich 8/1, Juventus 13/2 and PSG 7/1. It is going to be an open year this year so all the teams in the competition that make the knockout stages will fancy their chances of going all the way.

The bookmakers have Manchester City as the favorites from the EPL to lift the Champions League trophy in 2019. They are priced at 9/2 and after their record-breaking campaign last time around in the EPL they are bound to get a lot of punters taking bookies up on that offer. They made further signing in the summer to improve the squad that was already the most strong in the league. They have not weak points and under the management of Pep Guardiola who loves to win this competition, they should make it at least to the final.

Priced at 12/1 Liverpool are going to attract a lot of betting attention especially after their unbeaten start to the EPL season. Goalkeeping errors cost them the trophy last time around so they have invested heavily in one of the world’s best keepers. If Man City and Liverpool can avoid each other until the final it could be an all English affair.

If either Man U priced at 27/1 or Spurs at 28/1 can hit a run of form, they could end up surprising everyone. With Mourinho in charge, it would not be a surprise to see the Red Devils go all the way. It may be worth waiting until the end of the busy Xmas period before placing a bet to see how things turn out at Old Trafford. If Harry Kane’s has another season where he bangs in goals for fun he may be able to take Tottenham to the final but they will need a lot of luck on their side if they are going to achieve it.
